Admissions Policy

“BCIS welcomes students from families who understand and support the school’s mission, vision and philosophy, and goals. The school admits students of all nationalities subject to the availability of seats and resources.”

Consistent with the  vision and mission of BCIS, the school’s admissions policy reflects our inclusiveness. We accept students of all nationalities and work to maintain a balanced enrollment based on gender, academic history, a student’s passions and interests, English language proficiency, and the make-up of the current student body.

We encourage all families to tour our school, attend an information session, and make every effort to understand our academic program and mission before submitting an application and embarking on the admissions process.

Entry for 2017-2018 Academic Year (Apply Online)

We will begin accepting applications for the 2017-2018 academic year from October 10, 2016. We ask that families applying for the 2017-18 academic year to complete the Online Application process. Applications must be accompanied with all supporting documents. Please refer to the Application Checklist for the admissions requirements by grade.

To be considered in the first round, you must complete the process by submitting all supporting documents by February 28, 2017. Once all the application documentation is complete, we will be in a position to schedule an interview based on seat availability in your Grade level.

You will be notified by the Admissions office via email or phone about the specific time and date for your interview. If you are traveling to Beijing to select a school, every effort will be made to work with your time schedule.

Please note that children who enroll at BCIS from schools with academic calendars that are not aligned with the BCIS academic calendar will be placed in the grade in which they are currently studying or have just completed. It is our intention to place every student in the grade level that is age appropriate, as well as developmentally appropriate. It is under very rare circumstances that we will allow a child to skip half a year of their education. However, at the discretion of individual Principals, exceptions may be considered based on a student’s complete file, academic history, and individual interview.
