Language Lessons for Parents
Thanks to our parents volunteers, three levels of Chinese language classes are offered each week for Beginning, Intermediate and Advancd Chinese. Two levels of English classes for Beginning and Intermediate/Advanced are also offered.

Chinese Classes are held as scheduled:
Beginners: Tuesdays from 13:30 to 15:00
Intermediate: Thursdays from 13:30 to 15:00
Advanced: Fridays from 13:30 to 15:00
English Classes are held as scheduled:
Beginners: Tuesdays from 12:45 to 14:15
Intermediate/Advanced: Mondays from 13:30 to 15:00
Meet the Chinese Teachers
Ms. Liu Pin:
Liu Pin is a Beijinger. She holds an associate degree in Chinese Literature, and has previous worked as a kindergarten teacher. Currently, she is a studio and project manager for her husband who is a noted artist in China and Australia. She has a daughter in Grade 10.
Samantha graduated from Yunan University majoring in Business Management. After graduation, she worked for many years as a media relations expert at Ogilvy Public Relations. In 2011, Samantha founded her own company, Greenart, which is dedicated to promoting a greener indoor life for its customers. Samantha joined the BCIS community in 2013, and has a daughter in Grade 4.
A native of Beijing, Lucy used to be a doctor, but now currently works as a consultant. She has been teaching foreigners Chinese for about six months now.
Lily trained as a Chinese teacher at Beijing Language and Culture University, obtaining her certificate in 2008. She used to be a part-time Chinese teacher at Berlitz Beijing Center. Lily joined BCIS in 2013, and has a son in Grade 10.
Meet the English Teachers
Mrs Debora Ventura:
Debora completed her university studies in London and spent some years there studying and working before returning to her native Italy. Once home, she worked as a secondary school English teacher after having done several different jobs. She believes she found her passion in teaching, and has now accumulated 14 years' experience. Debora moved to Beijing for her husband's job in January 2013. She has three beautiful children, two of which currently study at BCIS, and a third (nearly 2 years old) still at home.
Mrs Minh Bui:
Minh is from Australia. Some 20 years ago, she graduated from universities in Australia with economics and science degrees, as well as a Masters in management. Despite her strong educational history, she still considers herself to be a learner. She has been a policy writer, publisher and senior manager in the Australian government for the last 14 years. In Beijing, she accompanies her husband on a three-year posting with the Australian Embassy. She is making the most of being in Beijing by trying to learn Mandarin, make new friends and spend more time with her two children.
