On December 5-6, 2015, YERI (Beijing YueCheng Education Research Institute) conducted a forum entitled “Curriculum by Backward Design.” YERI had the great honor of inviting Dr. Stephen Ellenwood from the School of Education of Boston University as the main presenter.

The BCIS Secondary School Music Department is delighted to invite parents in the school community to attend their Winter Concert on Thursday, December 17, 2015, at 19:00 in the BCIS Theatre. Besides the wonderful complement of talented school soloists and student vocal groups, the concert program also features many fantastic ensembles:

BCIS Elementary School parents are invited to the ES Winter Concert - "Lights, Camera, Action", which this year will be performed at two separate times. The content of the 09:30 and 14:00 concerts is exactly the same, and all children will perform at both. Please inform your child’s Homeroom teacher which time you would like to attend, and you will receive a free ticket for that scheduled time. If you have any questions about this arrangement, please email ES Music Teacher, Ivana Ancic, at ivana.ancic@bcis.cn. It’s shaping up to be a wonderful Winter Concert, and we look forward to parents coming to one of the two performances!

Join us at the BCIS Main Campus on Tuesday, November 24 for our monthly Parents as Learners (PAL) Workshop. This month’s topic is “Social Networking and Responsible Technology Use”, and will be led by our Technology and Counseling teams.

BCIS Idol has become a beloved tradition of the school, and a much-anticipated calendar date for musicians and dancers alike. This year’s competition was another smash hit, with more than 50 students taking part in 18 music and dance performances. The Theatre was packed out with students, parents, teachers; the community came out in force.
