BCIS In Focus - November 2015

Dear Parents, Colleagues, and Friends of BCIS,

During the past 15 years or so, when educators and/or parents converse about educating the young, there is a term that is often central to those conversations. That term is “Global Citizen” and it is attendant to the focus of many of these conversations. A central question that often emerges from these conversations is this: What does it mean to be a “Global Citizen” and what is the school doing to prepare my child to be successful in that context?

BCIS In Focus - October 2015

Dear Parents, Colleagues, and Friends of BCIS,

The most important responsibility of schools and parents is to provide the next generation with the skills and dispositions required to lead a rewarding, meaningful, and successful life. BCIS In Focus - June 10, 2015

Dear All,

It was a great opportunity to be able to hand Reilly her BCIS Diploma during the graduation ceremony in our theater on Saturday, May 30. I did mention her in my speech to the graduates, and tried to communicate how proud I was of what she had accomplished while she was in China. I should have taken more time when I stepped back from my role as Head of School to connect with the other parents in the room, because I know that we all shared the same feelings for all of our children on that stage that afternoon. As a parent, I wish to thank all of the people who are part of the BCIS community who have supported Reilly in her educational journey through the school. I know that Reilly did make an effort to speak with those teachers who attended the ceremony, and to thank them for all they had done to help her grow up and successfully graduate from the school.
