A DAY WITH MS LAWTON
Fei Gao
With Teacher's Day yesterday here in China, at Beijing City International School (BCIS) we would like to further celebrate the attitude of gratitude. Our Head of School, Julie Lawton, leads by example. Along with our entire awesome faculty, Ms Lawton is always seen welcoming our students at the Main Campus gate every morning and Wednesdays at the Early Childhood Center, sending them off from the field at the end of the school day, assisting with lunch duties in between and even carving out special "Ms Lawton's Library Time" with the Elementary School (ES) students. In the video below, Julie shares her gratitude to our BCIS community with the return of our full campus.
"Ms Lawton's Library Time" has been a highlight for our ES students upon their return to campus. They have had another opportunity to sit down, connect and share cozy moments with Ms Lawton in the ES library. Each ES class had a book read during this time by Ms Lawton, amongst giggles, heart-to-hearts and insightful discussions. Ms Lawton, as in everything she does, chooses books carefully and thoughtfully for each class with the essence of BCIS' mission, "to challenge and empower students to be compassionate and inspired people, who act for the good of all and for the sustainable development of the world." At BCIS we are inspired by Ms Lawton, our staff, our families and certainly our students.
