PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION (PTA)

WELCOME TO THE PTA

The day your child joined the school, you became a member of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at BCIS. The PTA is a non-profit organization consisting of all parents, teachers, and members of the school community.

Our aim is to promote and enhance the international character and values of the education offered at BCIS, and to forge a unified, vibrant, caring community in support of student education. Through close co-operation among the parents, staff, Board, and others associated with the school, the PTA assists in developing and extending relationships with all.

Orientating to life after moving to a new country, new school, and often, a new language can be an overwhelming experience. Participating in PTA activities is a great way to make new friends, share experiences, and learn about the community.

OUR ACTIVITIES

The PTA helps the school organize and show support at various events throughout the year such as International Day, the Roundabout Book Fair, Spring in the City, the Winter Carnivaland other various social get-togethers.

Fundraising is a part of PTA activities. With that, we will endeavor to support various school and community charities/initiatives in an effort to give back to the community we live in, and to promote a sense of social responsibility in our children. Student Council and individual students, class led initiatives, and teachers/management from across the school, can apply to receive PTA fund support through the Grant Program.

We also hold various language classes each week for our members. If you are interested, please click here to see the schedule.

WONDERING HOW TO GET INVOLVED?

There are many ways to get involved in the PTA. We welcome you to join PTA meetings to learn about new developments and find opportunities to contribute to the direction of the school, join or suggest a new initative, volunteer at the PTA events, etc. Language classes, arts & crafts sessions, and book clubs are just a few of the PTA-run clubs hosted at the school as well. Find out if any of your particular interests, talents or skills can be offered to students or parents within our community.

With each helping hand, us parents can make our community  be even more vibrant and inviting, so we encourage you to do your part and become involved!
