Policy and Procedures
ADMISSIONS POLICYBCIS welcomes students from families who
understand and support the school’s mission,
vision and philosophy, and goals. The school
admits students of all nationalities, including
Chinese nationals, subject to the availability of
seats and resources. Consistent with the vision and mission of BCIS, the school’s admissions policy reflects our inclusiveness. We accept students of all nationalities and work to maintain a balanced enrollment based on gender, academic history, a student’s passions and interests, English language proficiency, and the make-up of the current student body. To become familiar with the whole school and our philosophy, we encourage all families to tour our school before submitting an application and embarking on the admissions process. IMMEDIATE ENTRY TO THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR To accommodate families moving to Beijing due to job relocation by embassies, companies, or other unexpected circumstances, we offer a rolling admissions process for late application. We ask that families applying for the 2024-2025 school year to complete the Online Application process, which can be found at Apply Online. We recommend parents to call (+86 10 8771 7171) or email the Admissions Office (admissions@bcis.cn) to confirm the availability of seats before applying.
ENTRY TO THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR Please complete the Online Application Form and
upload the required supporting documents. You
may refer to our Application page for the
admissions requirement for the
respective grade levels. Please be advised that applications will not be considered complete until the school has received ALL supporting documents and a campus tour has been completed. Interview and/or assessment tests will be arranged with shortlisted candidates based on seat availability in your grade level. Please note that after the first round application, we utilize a rolling admissions process until seats are filled in each grade. Please note that children who enroll at BCIS from schools with academic calendars that are not aligned with the BCIS academic calendar will be placed in the grade in which they are currently studying or have just completed. It is our intention to place every student in the grade level that is age appropriate, as well as developmentally appropriate. It is under very rare circumstances that we will allow a child to skip half a year of their education. However, at the discretion of individual principals, exceptions may be considered based on a student’s complete file, academic history, and individual interview.
