PAL WORKSHOP: COURAGE, RESILIENCE, AND FAILING WELL
Greg Choi
On Monday, December 3 from 18:30 to 20:00, BCIS will hold a special Parents as Learners (PAL) Workshop on courage, resilience, and failing well led by Mr. Lance G King, an internationally renowned author, teacher, and workshop facilitator. He is also the creator of the Art of Learning program, which has been delivered to more than 200,000 students in 32 countries. By sharing his research and experience with learners and learning methods, which span more than 30 years, he will demonstrate how each child has the opportunity to become a successful learner with resilience and courage to overcome barriers. In addition, he will show that for children to become capable, independent learners, both parents and children should know and understand the secrets to being a successful learner. Please read on further for more details on Mr. King.
"As parents, we devote our efforts to providing the best possible education for our children so that they can be prepared for an unknown future. However, depending on high expectations, overwhelming spoon-fed education is often contrary to our hope. Lance G King writes about this in his book, 'The Art of Learning,' and also introduces the reader to how they can master the various components for successful learning; the effort needed, self-motivation and resilience required to succeed, effective learning skills, and desired wisdom through difficult times."
