This ‘Shaping our Future’ panel discussion will explore the challenges teens face in the digital age and strategies to support their well-being. We'll delve into the role of social media, online gaming, and screen time in shaping young people’s mental state, and what strategies we can take as individuals and as communities to engage with this phenomenon. Our panelists will discuss how BCIS promotes mental health awareness and provides resources for our learners. Join us as we work together to create a healthier and more supportive environment for our teens.

Mr. Hu is a director at Tencent Investment, specializing in the global gaming market. Tony’s professional journey encompasses over a decade of dedicated service in cross-border digital entertainment, focusing on strategic investments and mergers and acquisitions. Tony’s commitment to the industry is paralleled by a profound passion for gaming and global entertainment, a fervor that extends into his personal life as the father of an 8-year-old aspiring gamer. Both personally and professionally, Tony is aiming to bridge the intricate worlds of gaming, investment, and familial engagement with a professional and analytical perspective.

 

Shum Pei San, Learning Frontier Clinical Psychologist  

Pei San is a clinical psychologist with over nine years of experience specializing in the psychological assessment and support of children and adolescents with developmental, learning, social, and emotional needs.  In addition to her therapeutic work, Pei San offers consultations for parents and teachers, providing them with valuable insights and practical strategies to support the development and well-being of learners.

 

Karina Zippilli, BCIS Middle School Counselor 

Karina’s diverse career includes roles as a Clinical Psychologist/Counselor, Learning Support/SEN Coordinator and Career Counselor. Karina is deeply passionate about working with learners of all ages, dedicating her time and expertise to supporting their growth and development. She is committed to creating a supportive environment where learners can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
