Apply for the Play Group
Recently, following the conclusion of a few rounds of our play group sessions at BCIS Courtyard Kindergarten, we received extensive feedback from families who participated, sharing their thoughts with us.
To meet the expectations of more families, Courtyard Kindergarten will offer three play group sessions starting February 19, 2025. Each session includes four classes, each lasting two hours. The trial course is open to families with children aged 14 months to 3 years who are considering kindergarten admission. Upon successful application, participants can expect the following:
The play group classes at Courtyard Kindergarten are led in person by the deputy principal and the academic leadership team. They engage closely with the children, guiding them on an exciting journey of self-discovery and exploration. Families will experience high-quality teaching in a cross-cultural environment, where games and interactions foster a close teacher-student relationship and a strong home-school connection.
The program nurtures children's early social and emotional development, helping them build self-confidence and develop cooperation and collaboration skills—essential foundations for their future kindergarten experience.
Start a Positive Journey
of Exploration
We believe that every child is born to be an excellent, capable, and happy learner. During kindergarten, a child's primary "job" is to learn through exploratory play.
"Play" allows young children to recognize themselves, understand others, and explore their surroundings. It helps them form meaningful connections with the world around them. Children possess a natural curiosity and eagerness to learn about various aspects of life. At Courtyard Kindergarten, teachers observe, record, and analyze each child's interests to create opportunities for inquiry and provide appropriate support for developing multi-domain skills.
Courtyard Kindergarten prioritizes child-centered exploratory play, creating a "borderless space" environment that encourages unrestricted exploration across diverse fields of interest. A safe and inclusive environment, along with trusting relationships, are key to helping children thrive in kindergarten and achieve optimal learning outcomes.
Additionally, active interaction with nature is vital for children's learning. In both indoor and outdoor settings at the kindergarten, children can engage closely with nature. The garden is home to fascinating insects and small animals that allow children to observe natural changes firsthand. Furthermore, the small farm on-site enables children to grow vegetables, water them, monitor their growth process, and taste their harvests—teaching them about life cycles and fostering respect for nature.
If you plan to enroll your child in kindergarten, we invite you to contact the admissions team at Courtyard Kindergarten to apply for our play group courses. Share wonderful parent-child moments in our century-old courtyard as you embark on an educational dialogue about childhood and growth. This revision maintains clarity while enhancing readability and flow.
