The first day of December brought the beloved BCIS Winter Bazaar back to our community, with its theme, Winter Story, radiating warmth and vibrance on to campus. BCISers were captured by the atmosphere, where the literary theme stood out as a distinctively wintery experience, bringing memories of storytelling that are associated with the season. This event has become a treasured chapter in the BCIS story, as we welcome the cold months once again with this cherished tradition.

The campus transformed into a living storybook, where literary scenes brought winter’s hidden warmth to life. BCISers were immersed in the experience: families explored beloved stories like The Story of the Little Mole, relaxed in the cozy “book house,” and captured memories with life-sized “book pages.”

Beyond reading, they brought their own stories to life—students from kindergarten to high school took to the indoor and outdoor stages with lively performances of all kinds.

No Winter Bazaar is complete without comforting treats. Outdoors, more than a dozen food stalls offered flavors from around the world. Amidst the smell of hot chocolate in the air, bazaar-goers basked in the sun and enjoyed the outdoors despite the temperature.

At the “Wish Book” station, community members penned their hopes for the new year. Almost like a wishing well, BCISers filled the pages with their dreams for the future, both for themselves and for the wider world.

Continuing its tradition of giving back, this year’s Winter Bazaar partnered with the Roundabout Foundation, with proceeds from more than 100 stalls—including contributions from BCIS departments, YueCheng Parkside Kindergarten, and other organizations—supporting the Beijing Le Share Foundation’s Roundabout Special Fund for children battling hematological diseases.
